Pre Tournament Thoughts

Well, it is a week away before I depart to Reno, Nevada to bowl in the USBC Senior Masters. I have been anticipating this event for a very long time. Not sure this is the first event that I should be bowling, it just happens to be the first tournament that I am eligible to bowl. I will be very nervous knowing that I will be competing against many bowlers who I grew up watching and admiring. I understand that it will be on very demanding lane conditions and that I should have put in more practice than I have over the last month since leagues have been over. I had a good year and have been bowling a PBA Experience League at Emerald Lanes trying to prepare myself for the tougher lane conditions that I will bowling on. I have a lesson scheduled for Sunday - July 8th with Mike Jasnau at the Bowling Stadium. I am looking forward to his critique and hope it gives me some things to work on and improve my game. After that I will jump into the Sweeper at 2:30 and then I am off to the practice session at 5:30. Well, I guess that is it for now. More updates to follow over the next couple of weeks.

Dennis,

I look forward to reading more about your bowling prowess and to see you blogging in general.

Good luck in Reno! Your odds at bowling should be better then in a casino!

Otto;
Thanks for commenting. I will be choosing my casino visits wisely. But, I do love to play Pai-Gow Poker, especially with all the free drinks you get.

Dennis,

I know you are going to do well. I have bowled with all of the guys out there and TRUST me YOU CAN COMPETE with them anytime and anywhere. Like I have always said You are one of the BEST WRONGHANDER I have ever seen or bowled against. Good luck and stay focused on that one shot and have a short memory of the not so perfect ones.

Mikey;
Thanks for the kind words. I will try and stay focused on one shot at a time. Not my strong suit, but will try really hard at it. I know this is what separates the haves from the have nots.

We are with you all the way son, and oh by the way the picture of your Dad and I is 51 years ago, last year was our 50th wedding anniversay, that you and Kristi made sure we had a great day with family and friends to celebrate. So you are going to be 50 this year and we wish you all the best, just remember to enjoy every moment.
